Things are good! Not much to report except that it looks like we have a date for the bone marrow transplant. From the information we’ve received (and we just got some calendar invitations, not any specific information so far) it should be November 27-ish, right after Thanksgiving. I’ve got a couple of CT scans, a cardiology work-up and some odd blood draws (and whatever else I don’t know!) to get through before then.
The late November date is a little annoying, just because I’ll be in Baltimore for at least 60 days, which means at least through the end of January. I was looking forward to being done earlier, but that’s a minor annoyance. Most importantly, I’m looking forward to this taking place. It has been a long time in preparation.
I haven't had much medical intervention for weeks now and it's been super weird. In the hospital you have vital signs taken every four hours, then at home, I was going to the Doctor's office every day to get my blood drawn and labs checked. Now, I take a few pills at night for "maintenance" chemo.
Not much else to report; I’ve been working some and taking the dog on long, slow, walks around the neighborhood. I also indulged in a little shopping a couple of weekends ago so I have some new kitchen gadgets to try out. The NBA is back and that gives us something to watch and provides a little team drama.
Enjoy my picture of David, me, and my bone marrow donor John Kelley! I expect to return post-transplant super tall and with a mullet.
Such good news Kathleen…I know you would like to go ‘yesterday’ but now it’s a reality…we are all pulling for you..and you’d be cute with a mullet ;)
